10th - 11th June
Tutor: Toby Wiggins
We shall explore the surrounding Wiltshire landscape over two days in mid summer light.
Day one will be dedicated to tone - drawing with dry materials then painting in oils or acrylics, we shall explore the merits of working with a restricted and subdued or ‘desaturated’ palette. What is revealed about the landscape when focusing on tone?
Day two dedicated to colour – We return to the landscape to paint with a larger palette of high, pure or ‘saturated’ colour and explore how this changes our interpretation; what new aspects are revealed through colour?
